About tldplay
Most people meet top-level domains one at a time: a startup on .io, a podcast on .fm, a link that ends in something they've never seen. tldplay is the place to look them up — all of them — and to actually remember what you learned.
What you'll find here
- A page for every TLD in the DNS root zone, plus the reserved and retired names people still ask about.
- The facts that matter: which country a code belongs to, who manages it, when it launched, whether it's DNSSEC-signed, and where to look up registration data.
- Notes from people who work with domains on the endings worth a closer look — what they're good for and what to watch out for.
- Games that turn all of that into something you'll remember: flag quizzes, a 3D globe hunt, a daily challenge, and a passport that fills up as you explore.
- Sound, lightly. Short cues for right and wrong answers, a cheer for the big moments. One click on the speaker icon in the header mutes it all.
Who's behind tldplay
tldplay is made by the team behind Atak Domain, a domain registrar and hosting provider; Domain Name API, a registration platform for resellers; and Whois.com.tr, a WHOIS lookup service. We work with domains every day, and this site is where we share what we know about the endings themselves.
So you know where we stand: TLD pages link to those services when you want to register a name, look up its WHOIS or sell domains, and each of those links is labeled. The facts on every page come from IANA and ICANN — not from what our services happen to sell — and our methodology explains exactly how the data is collected and when it's refreshed. tldplay isn't affiliated with IANA, ICANN or any TLD registry, and no TLD pays to appear here.

There are no accounts. XP, stamps, badges and streaks are stored in your browser only — nothing is sent to us. You can export a backup from your passport at any time.
Corrections and contact
Registries change policies, operators and name servers more often than you'd think. If something on a page is out of date, we want to know. A contact address is coming soon.
